Gays march in St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

March 15, 1992

Approximately 25 members of the Irish-American Gay Lesbian and Bisexual Pride Committee march in the parade after having persuaded Suffolk Superior Court Judge Hiller Zobel to issue a temporary restraining order preventing them from being barred by the parade sponsor, the Allied War Veterans Council of South Boston. The marchers are not greeted warmly this year or when they march again in 1993, and are barred from marching after a court decision in 1995.*
